Chad Boat Eager for Return to Iowa Speedway
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 14, 2014) - As a rookie in the NASCAR Nationwide Series many visits to a track are the first for Chad Boat and his Billy Boat Motorsports team. However, this week's trip to Iowa Speedway is a return to familiar ground for the 22-year old "Rising Star". On Sunday, Boat will pilot his No. 84 Chevrolet in the running of the Get To Know Newton 250 which will mark his fourth career start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series as well as his fourth start at the Newton, Iowa track.
"It feels good to be heading back to Iowa Speedway," said Chad Boat. "I made my first stock car start at the track and ever since that first day there was something about it that I liked. It is a driver's track for sure with multiple lanes of racing which helps in finding out what works for your car. We are bringing a brand new car to Iowa and the guys on my team have done a tremendous job in providing me with good cars every time out. I am confident we will have a very good piece again this week and with this being one of my favorite tracks I have some high expectations."
Boat, making his fourth start of the season and his career in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, is coming off a tremendous effort last time out at Talladega Superspeedway. Chad would run in the top ten the majority of the second half of the race and was just biding his time to make a move at the end. Unfortunately in typical Talladega fashion he would end up an innocent victim of superspeedway racing and was forced to settle for a 25th-place finish.
Chad's high hopes this week at Iowa Speedway are not without merit. In three previous starts between the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the ARCA Series he has garnered two third-place finishes and a fourth place finish.
Also supporting Chad Boat and the Billy Boat Motorsports team this week in Iowa is the Holiday Inn Des Moines Airport.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series Get To Know Newton 250 presented by Sherwin Williams at Iowa Speedway will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 and will be broadcast live at 2:30 p.m. EST on ESPN and radio stations affiliated with MRN and Sirius Channel 90.
