Yeley Finishes 15th in New Hampshire
LOUDON, N.H. (July 19, 2015) - J.J. Yeley and his JGL Racing team earned their fourth consecutive top-20 finish on Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Yeley steered his No. 28 Toyota to a 15th-place finish in the running of the Lakes Region 200 at the Loudon, New Hampshire track.
"That was a pretty solid run for us today," said Yeley. "We were a little loose in the center of the corner at the beginning but Steven Lane (crew chief) made a few good adjustments that really helped us for the rest of the race. We had great pit stops all day and gained some valuable track position on pit road. We raced up towards the front of the field where we expect to be every week."
Yeley would start the 200-lap event from the 19th position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day. In the early stages of the event, J.J. would report that his No. 28 Toyota was loose - especially in the center of the corners. The second caution of the day on lap 36 allowed the JGL Racing team to bring driver and car down pit road for service and a much needed adjustment. After gaining some track position on pit road, the adjustment by Steven Lane seemed to help as Yeley ran some of the fastest laps of the race and knocked on the door to the top-10 at the halfway point of the race.
The second half of the race would see green flag pit stops which cycled through and caught the No. 28 Toyota down a lap. Unable to get back their lap, Yeley and the JGL Racing team would continue to run fast laps on his way to the 15th-place finish.
"This week was another step in the right direction for this JGL Racing team," added Yeley. "We continue to find speed and this week we were able to translate that over to the race. I appreciate all of the hard work from everyone on this team and it is starting to pay off. I look forward to going to Indianapolis next week which is a special place for me."
With the 15th-place finish Yeley moved up one spot to 14th place in the overall NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers' standings - a mere three points out of the 13th spot.
Yeley and his JGL Racing team will set their sights next on Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The running of the Lilly Diabetes 250 will be Saturday July 25th and can be seen LIVE on NBC at 3:00 pm ET. It can also be heard on IndyCar Radio and Sirius Channel 90.
