Yeley Comes Home 17th in Phoenix

AVONDALE, AZ. (November 15, 2015) - J.J. Yeley and his JGL Racing team came to Phoenix International Raceway looking to put on a good show in front of the Phoenix natives family and friends.   When the checkered flag flew on the running of the DAV 200, Yeley would bring his No. 28 Toyota home to a 17th place finish in the NASCAR XFINITY Series event.

"This was a decent day for us," said Yeley.  "Our No. 28 Toyota just wasn't secure enough for me to hustle the car like I really wanted to.  The guys on this JGL Racing team did a great job and the pit crew picked us up some key spots on pit road.  We kept our car clean and came home with a respectable finish in front of my home crowd."

Yeley would qualify in the 18th position for the 200-lap event in the desert.  In the early stages of the race J.J. would let his JGL Racing team know that he was a little loose in the center of the corners and couldn't push his Toyota as he would like.  With long green flag runs in a fairly quick race, the JGL Racing crew would only have two trips down pit road to make some necessary adjustments.

The veteran NASCAR driver would use his experience to maintain track position and take care of his No. 28 Toyota.  When the checkered flag flew, Yeley would come home with his 22nd top-20 finish of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season.

"We had hoped for a little bit of a better race today but in all it wasn't too bad," added Yeley.  "I look forward to going to Homestead next week and ending this race season with another strong performance."

With the 17th-place finish Yeley moved up one position to 12th in the overall NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers' standings - just 17 points out of the 11th spot.

Yeley and his JGL Racing team will next set their sights onto Homestead Miami Speedway for the season finale.  The running of the Ford Ecoboost 300 will be Saturday November 21st and can be seen LIVE on NBC at 3:00 pm ET.  It can also be heard on Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius Channel 90.
